The National Student Mock Election is a dynamic and educational initiative dedicated to empowering young people and their families through civic engagement. Established in the 1980s with the mission to cultivate the next generation of informed and active citizens, our program provides students across the nation with an opportunity to experience the democratic process of voting in an election firsthand.
We believe that democracy is strengthened when everyone—regardless of age—understands the importance of voting and civic responsibility. Our mock election serves as a platform where students, alongside their peers and educators participate in simulated voting experiences, mirroring real national, state, and local elections. This hands-on experience equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in future elections with confidence.
Through our partnerships with schools, community organizations, and civic leaders, we offer educational resources, including voter guides, candidate information, and discussions on key issues. These tools not only provide a comprehensive understanding of the electoral process but also encourage meaningful dialogue between students and their families about the significance of their voices in shaping the future.
At the National Student Mock Election, we are committed to fostering an early interest in democracy, encouraging informed decision-making, and ensuring that the next generation of voters is prepared to lead our nation forward. Together, we are building a more engaged, informed, and responsible electorate—one student and parent at a time.
Partners and sponsors include Win My Vote, The National Student Council, National Association of Secretaries of State, New Voters, When We All Vote, Constituting America, America's Mock Election, ConSource, as well as countless donors that have contributed over the decades.
